The MPTS is not simply a bank of capacitors. Capacitor banks are static solutions that are designed for a specific kW load.  The capacitors can not achieve their expected results if the calculated load is not achieved and maintained.

The MPTS is an advanced, dynamic system that adapts to your system's loads 24/7, 365 days a year.  It is not an additional load, it is installed in parallel to your electrical system.  In addition to addressing Power Factor, the MPTS also mitigates harmonic distortion which also contributes to kVar.  MPTS systems typically save 20% in demand.

The MPTS monitors and controls a building's electrical load to address the two biggest culprits of poor power quality:  

Inductive loads — like motors, HVACs, compressors, etc. — cause lagging power factor (current lags voltage).
Non-linear loads, such as computers, VFDs, LED drivers, etc., introduce harmonics, which distort the current waveform and lower true PF even more.
